The present bells replaced an original Rudhalls 6 after a fire resulting from a lightning
strike in 1840.
The tenor cracked in the early years of the 20th century and the bells
have been virtually unringeagle for the last hundred years. Considerable work has
recently been completed on the tower, and the bells have been be rehung by Matthew
Higby in the existing frame with the tenor welded summer 2009. Some work to clappers
and with sound control still to be completed.
