Are you hosting an event to promote ringing at your tower or in your district?
Roller Banner – We have a selfsupporting roller banner for indoor use (or gazebo/tent), which can be borrowed (subject to availability) for any event within the Hereford Guild where ringing is promoted (e.g. tower open days, fêtes & festivals).
Flag – We also have an eye-catching flag which can be used outdoors, it is ideal for entrances to draw people in.
If you would like to borrow either of these, contact Nicky at peo@hdgb.org.
What can I do at my tower?
Here are a few suggestions….
-
- Display ringing times and contact details on the church notice board or in the church porch Ringing Times Poster
- Put a display in the church about ringing locally; you could include, information about the bells, your ringers, quarters and peals or other achievements.
- Leave a supply of flyers out for non-ringers to take away. The guild has some available, please ask if you would like some.
- Let the locals know what is going on, share a post on a village/town social media group, announce special ringing in your village magazine, churches often have weekly notice sheets.
- Make sure your local church website includes something about the bells and ringing, you can add a link to this website.
- Let us know what going on in your tower and we can share it on our social media.
- If you’ve had an event or a special achievement, send and article and photo to a local newspaper.
