Announcement

We are very sorry to learn of the recent deaths of David Elliott of Cardington and Peter Newing of Eastnor.

David Elliott joined the Guild in 2001 and was the long-standing Tower Captain at Cardington for over 10 years. David also served as Church Stretton District treasurer from 2011 to 2022, we remember his service to the Guild with gratitude.  Peter passed away peacefully at home.

The Rev. Dr. Peter Newing joined the guild in 1969 and remained a member until 1974.  He rejoined in 2002 and he only recently retired from ringing.  Peter served as Associate Priest at Bromsberrow from 2000-2010 and was well known in the area.  Peter was a generous benefactor and many local ringing projects benefitted from his donations.

Our thoughts are with their families.  With their families’ agreement, we will update with funeral details when they become available.

Bromyard District AGM

The Bromyard Annual General Meeting which will be held on Saturday, 22nd February 2025.

We’ve arranged an exciting day including:

The District AGM is the first in a number of years when we are able to ring at towers in our district where there are the beginnings of a new band of ringers in each location. We have new Tower Captains in place at both, learners who are very soon going to be holding selective practices with a view to re-introducing Sunday Service ringing. Both sets of bells have benefitted from significant work in recent months – the Tenor bell at Bishops Frome and a new access platform at Pencombe.

We would love for you to come along and show your support for these two towers.

We will be electing new members, a new District Treasurer, a new tower Secretary for Bromyard and a new management committee member for the district.
