Guild Treasurer, Mark Aston
Despite coming from a ringing family who all rang in Cornwall, I didn’t learn till moving to Leominster in 1996, where I owned and ran a shop for a many years.
My learning journey took me around much of the north of the county and I even organised a ringing outing to the wilds of Worcester.
Shift working on the Railway meant ringing slowly took a back a seat for a few years and a move to Hereford stopped it altogether for a few years, but with a little encouragement from Nicky Aubrey I returned to it (and promptly remembered just how much I enjoy it !) at the Cathedral last year. I now ring around the city and even managed my first Peal in December 2023 and a quarter inside just after (think 27 years after learning this may be a record…..)
I was coopted by the management committee in October 2023 to fill the role of Guild Treasurer that was vacant, and elected into the post at the AGM.
I look forward to working with all the district treasurers and making the collection and payment of subs as easy as possible and being in a position to facilitate the master and management committee to meet their aims.
