Guild Master – Sue Robinson
With my partner Rob, I’ve been living in Stanford Bridge (just over the Worcestershire border) for 7 years. My home tower is Bromyard where I have the privilege of being the Tower Captain. I came back to ringing after a long absence and I can honestly say it has become an extremely important & very welcome part of my life! It must be one of the few hobbies where you can turn up after minimal detective work, at a completely new place, ring with people you’ve never met before and feel like you are in completely familiar surroundings. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons it gets under your skin so much, along with visiting so many places, the challenge of progression, the musicality & the amazing amount of support many experienced ringers give you along your journey. I look forward to meeting as many guild members as possible over the next few years, new & old.
As the new Master I have selected three aims for the Guild. We will need to work hard on many levels to help us achieve these three objectives but put simply they are:
- To continue to grow the membership, increasing its diversity in terms of age & gender.
- To increase the range of activities at a district and Guild level with improved visibility of the events to encourage maximum attendance.
- For the Guild to be able to meet all ringers’ aspirations regarding their learning journey.
